First off I would like to explain that I've had awful acne on and off for the past eight years. I needed to be put on Accutane my sophomore year for six months in highschool and then again my freshman year of university for another three months. I've been wrestling ever since that point and required a substitute for dermatological doctor bills and prescriptions for acne remedy.

Since I was eleven or twelve I have had acne issues - it started mild but finally my skin became oily and full of acne ; Now eighteen years old, I have attempted Pro-active , Clearasil, and now this AcneFree system.
First of all, permit me to say : do not waste your time on Pro-active . Of the 3 I discussed above, it was actually the least effective.
Pro-active is just essentially watered-down Clearasil, which is great to be used on mild acne. Nevertheless for moderate to harsh acne, I strongly recommend this product. I have been using it for a touch more than 2 weeks and, while my face isn't fully freed from acne ( though I believe it'll be shortly ), it is far less irritated and my skin does feel softer. I haven't got many bumps, just red smears where the acne used to be. These mild smears are going away each passing day. But I must state : while this product is excellent for dreadful acne and works rather well ( yes, better than ProActive, in my viewpoint ) I wouldn't suggest using it for mild acne or as some type of skin care treatment. These are Powerful chemicals that you're putting on your face / chest / back, not some mild antibiotics.
Now, my skin has been terribly long suffering to acne medications so far, and I've not experienced any itching, peeling or irritation. But this product did BURN around my eyes.
Don't USE IT Inside AN In. OF YOUR EYES! They assert it'll BURN, AND THEY MEAN IT! The 3rd step of the morning routine, which I have a belief in the mend lotion, is a gritty, sandpaper-feeling substance. At the beginning, it stung when I put it on due to its coarse texture and the proven fact that my skin was delicate because of the acne. But once your skin starts to clear up, it will not trouble you so much any more. For one or two weeks, you simply have to infantryman on and fix it. It's also possible that it will dry your skin out. What many reviewers don't get nonetheless, is this is meant to occur. That's how Benzoyl Peroxide and other acne medicines work - they dry out the areas affected to exterminate the bacteria and other impurities that are responsible for acne. If you get mild dry skin, that suggests it is WORKING! If you don't like the sensation of dry skin nevertheless, use an oil free or low-oil moisturizer. It'll make your skin softer while also not impeding the effects of the acne medicine.

Also, it isn't precisely scent - I see 1 or 2 reviewers gave it a bad review because it smelled bad.
Yes , it does not smell the best, but the smell wears off once the lotion has been soaked up into your skin. So long as you are more interested in losing acne than how it smells, it should not trouble you.
